New ceramic piston pump from Sotax
Swiss company Sotax has developed the CP 7 ceramic piston pump which meets USP4, a test for flow through dissolution. Flow through dissolution is increasingly used in the testing of implants, stents, electrorheological suspensions, microspheres, APIs, powders, poorly soluble compounds, and controlled-release tablets and capsules.
Designed with seven valveless, self-priming ceramic piston pump heads, a high level of reproducibility and consistent flow rates can be achieved. With a new lower flow rate range from 1.5-35ml/min, the tester can be set automatically through the digital display or through the company's WinSotax advanced dissolution software. Furthermore, it is able to run completely different flow rates per channel.
Valveless, self priming piston heads also eliminate the need for frequent cleaning as well as sticking and clogging problems.
