Laboratories working on microarray development will take particular interest in the new concentration mode that has been added to the EZ-2 and EZ-2 Plus bench top solvent removal systems.

The new concentration mode enables the systems to concentrate samples down to a desired volume that may then be used in a microarray spotter or injected into an HPLC system for further analysis.

Incorporating the latest centrifugal evaporation technology in a compact and easy-to-use benchtop model, the EZ-2 Series has proprietary smart software including 'auto stop when dry' facility for developing and purifying temperature sensitive peptides.

A range of new features has also been introduced in response to feedback from users. These include solvent removal methods optimised to give better performance with less-than-full loads in the evaporation chamber and new facility for a timed run mode.

The latter development now allows users to preset a fixed system run time. This is very useful when drying mixed samples that dry at differing rates. If when the EZ-2 shuts off automatically, there are some samples not quite fully dry, it is now simple to program a short fixed time run to finally dry the more stubborn samples.
