Customised process equipment and facility designer Excelsyn Engineering Technology has opened its new offices and workshops in Newcastle-upon-Tyne for business.
Double the size of its previous location, the 8,000 sq ft Riverside House and nearby 7,650 sq ft workshop facility in Newburn Riverside will house 50 staff working across a mix of project management, engineering and design, commissioning and validation disciplines.
Excelsyn chairman and ceo Ian Shott said the new facilities would improve communication and speed as well as allow expansion of Excelsyn's specialisation in skid-mounted or modular equipment packages.
"The modular engineering design approach and automated skid mounted units that we manufacture enable our customers to benefit from faster installation, less disruption to existing operations and long-term "plug-and-play" flexibility to meet varying production needs for different drugs," said Shott.
Managing director Kenny Gilmour added: "The healthcare sector faces extensive challenges in regulation, globalisation, cost escalation, competition and public perception. The larger, better laid-out facilities in our new location will enhance our capability to deliver quality, value and speed to our customers" engineering investment".
With annual sales of over £12m, and employing nearly 130 people, the group also includes Excelsyn Molecular Development and Excelsyn Management Consulting.
