His Royal Highness Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Prince Guillaume, Minister of Economy, Franz Fayot, and Minister of Health, Paulette Lenert joined the CEO of B Medical Systems, Luc Provost, and the mayor of Hosingen, Romain Wester at a ceremony in Hosingen to mark the extension of the manufacturing facilities of B Medical Systems in Luxembourg.
The plant will be located next to the existing manufacturing facility of the company in Hosingen. The ceremony also saw the signing of a co-financing agreement with B Medical Systems by the Minister of Economy, Franz Fayot.
B Medical Systems manufactures ultra-low freezers, vaccine refrigerators, freezers, and transport boxes used for storing and transporting vaccines including COVID-19 vaccines across the world.
The extension project is a result of the significant rise in the demand for its products across the world, the company says, and will house several production lines for its products. The project is supported by various Luxembourgish construction companies and is expected to be operational by July 2021 and create 150 additional jobs.
“I am happy to announce the start of the extension of our production plant, in collaboration with the Government of Luxembourg. Over the last few months, the demand for vaccine cold chain has gone up tremendously. With the vaccine rollout happening in a phased approach, we see this demand continuing for at least another 2 years. Hence the extension is a critical step for us to support customers across the world in offering reliable vaccine cold chain solutions. We are glad that we could get all the suppliers for this project from within Luxembourg,” said Luc Provost, CEO of B Medical Systems.
The company is also supporting the COVID-19 vaccine cold chain infrastructure across various countries including Germany, France, the USA, Mexico, Indonesia, etc.
