Complies with upcoming EU pharmaceutical legislation


Systech International, a US supplier of Packaging Execution Systems (PES) and labelling technology specialist Marchesini Group demonstrated an integrated serialisation solution at Interpack. The solution will comply with the upcoming EU pharmaceutical legislation.

The serialisation line included an application of a serialised 2D Data Matrix bar code printed, verified and tracked fully compliant to GS1 standards.

The system comprised Systech's e-Series vision solution, Systech Advisor line management solution running Systech Serialised Product Tracking (SPT) using Marchesini's BL400TT labeller.

‘The tight integration between Systech and Marchesini offers the pharmaceutical packaging market an elegant solution for Europe's emerging serialisation requirements,’ said Joe Ringwood, COO, Systech International. ‘Since the solution is replicable, manufacturers can quickly and easily deploy it to multiple lines and plants, significantly reducing design, maintenance, and training costs.’

Piero Tomasi, Marchesini Group, added: ‘Manufacturers can now invest in a solution to address current coding requirements and if needed, easily scale to an array of packaging scenarios.’
