SWECO introduces LA Separator

Low profile machine offers a sifting motion across the screen plane

SWECO, a US supplier of particle separation and size reduction systems, has added the LA Separator to its portfolio for the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries.

The LA Separator features a single vertically mounted motor to induce a sifting motion across the screen plane. The frames of the separator are mounted on rubber isolators compared with the springs used in conventional low profile and other standard separators. Additionally, the LA Separator runs at higher G loadings and speeds than traditional low profile models.

The sifting motion is suitable for dealing with lighter products such as flours and starches. Rates of up to x8 those of other conventional low profile separators have been achieved.

For some scalping applications, other low profile designs can place too much vertical action on the product, greatly reducing the process rate. The LA Separator’s horizontal, high G motion increases the capacity of the undersize product passing through the screen, while allowing the oversize material to exit the separator.

SWECO, headquartered in Florence, KY, serves the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, minerals, paper and many other industries with separation, sizing and milling equipment.
