Sciformix Corporation and Cambridge Semantics partnership

This partnership will enable safety organisations to reduce timelines, increase quality and glean enhanced insights for effective scientific data management

Sciformix Corporation and Cambridge Semantics have announced a partnership to launch a semantic technology layer, specifically tailored to pharmacovigilance processes that will transform and help interpret big data for the life science industry.

This technology platform will allow Sciformix to further enhance its targeted pharmacovigilance automation suite for its clients.

The solution combines Sciformix's domain expertise in pharmacovigilance with Cambridge Semantics' Anzo Smart Data Lake to build safety-specific ontologies onto the platform, enabling life science companies to transform existing legacy data models into self-service analytics to maximise the value of their data.

The semantic layer of technology on the data lake is able to process and make sense of vast quantities of structured and unstructured data to allow users to see patterns, signals and extract analytics from the information. The platform can help operationalise machine learning and artificial intelligence to allow it to improve over time and further automate practices, including case processing and medical review, enabling users to have fewer touch points with their data.

Sciformix President and CEO Manish Soman commented: “Sciformix is excited to announce this collaboration, which will enhance pharmacovigilance processes in the industry through a new, comprehensive end-to-end solution. We chose to work with the Cambridge Semantics open platform as it is scalable, capable of handling large quantities of data and able to provide advanced analytics. As the scientific work carried out by Sciformix and its clients is very data intensive, this was essential.”

Both companies will be discussing this powerful solution set at World Drug Safety Congress, 2018 10–11 April at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue at Booth 11.

In addition Fran Bates, Vice President of Technology Services at Sciformix and Jim LaPointe, Managing Director at Cambridge Semantics, will be presenting together on “PV Automation Journey: Past, Present and Future” at 3:10 PM EST 10 April.
