The new 350 sqm office hosts admin space as well as a demonstration lab and seminar rooms aiming to help develop customised methods and solutions for analytical instrumentation

Shimadzu has opened its own branch office in Sweden. The new branch of the German company will be based in Stockholm, in the city district of Kista.

The analytical instrumentation specialist is already represented in all European countries with own subsidiaries and branch offices as well as a tightly woven network of qualified distributors.

Capabilities

The new office, with approximately 350 sqm, hosts administration space as well as a demonstration lab and seminar rooms. The team will consist of twelve employees covering sales and service, each with four people. Two application specialists complement the team, and two positions are still open in sales and service, the latter particularly for southern Sweden.

In the demo lab the latest solutions and products will be highlighted. In this environment, both existing and potential customers can get first impressions of the systems regarding size and footprint. They can experience the systems running and test them in operation. These opportunities help customers to make the right purchasing decision according to their needs.

The Swedish office will market Shimadzu’s full range of analytical instrumentation solutions covering chromatography, mass spectrometry, TOC (sum parameter) and spectroscopy. In particular solutions for clinical, pharmaceutical, environmental and food applications in industries and science will be promoted. Depending on the analytical needs, Shimadzu offers standard or customised solutions to support individual tasks in routine applications and method development challenges.

“Sweden has always been an early adopter of new technologies and open-minded towards new developments,” said Lage Thaning, Managing Director of the Shimadzu Sweden Branch Office. “With our own branch office, we intend to fully serve the needs of Swedish companies and industries. This covers the full range of our products and services, an own demo lab and the possibility to develop customised methods and solutions together with our clients.”
