NJM/CLI has introduced the RFID Integrated Auto-Colt III system, which applies and verifies RFID tags on bottles and other item level containers using a primary labeller.

The system allows pharmaceutical and other manufacturers to more effectively combat counterfeiting and improve track-and-trace throughout the supply chain, with the aim of achieving a higher level of security and control.

To meet the line speeds most customers demand on item level tagging, the system integrates an RFID antenna and a track-and-eject-verification system with NJM/CLI's field-proven Auto-Colt III pressure-sensitive labeller to apply and verify pre-encoded RFID tags. After applying the label, the system reads and verifies every tag and automatically rejects bottles with nonconforming tags from the production line.

The servo-driven Auto-Colt III handles round, oval, square and rectangular containers from one to 14 inches in height and from 5/8 to seven inches in diameter at speeds up to 250 cpm, depending on tag type and reader components. It can apply wrap around labels as well as single and multi-panel labels, and the labeler can be changed over in less than 15 minutes with no tools required.
