Nova Weigh's solution finds favour in pharmaceuticals

A major international pharmaceutical manufacturer has selected UK-based Nova Weigh to supply all process weighing systems for two of its plants.

The company has recently developed a new drug, the manufacturing process for which is complex and involves several stages. To guarantee the correct formulation, each stage requires precise mass measurement. Both plants use multiple sets of process vessels, which involve reactors with complex pipe connections. A vessel weighing solution was needed that would deliver accurate and reliable results. Nova Weigh's LoadMount vessel weighing system accompanied by the ST-Ex weight indicator was selected. Reactors and other process vessels can be installed onto the mounts, without needing to fit the load cells. This means that load cells are not subject to the risk of damage during installation. Only at the time of commissioning are the load cells installed.
