Oklahoma Safety Equipment, a leading pressure relief expert, has introduced the S-PRO-S, a one-piece rupture disk and sensor that simplifies installation and provides sanitary pressure relief protection and notification in chemical, food processing and pharmaceutical applications.

The S-PRO-S combines a bursting disk and sensor into a single assembly, thereby eliminating additional tri-clamp ferrules needed to install a separate sensor. When the disk bursts, the sensor's circuit is broken, thus triggering the activation of an alarm system. This speedy detection method results in a minimum amount of process downtime during disk replacement and correction of overpressure situations.

The design of the S-PRO-S makes it ideal for use in sanitary services; placement of the sensor and disk scoring on the vent side present a smooth surface to the process, minimizing product build-up, while a non-fragmenting design prevents contamination from rupture disk pieces entering the process after bursting.

Available in a range of sizes from one to four inches, the disk is suited to a variety of applications in a broad range of burst pressures (from 16 to 150 psig) and performs equally well in gas or liquid service applications and high-cycling environments, while its unibody system is able to withstand full vacuum (14.7psi) without a separate vacuum support,

Oseco is a Halma Group company and is located in Broken Arrow, Okla, US. The company precision-manufactures rupture disks, rupture panels and other pressure relief products using computerized load cells and an advanced five-axis laser.
