Brecon will discuss how crucial investment in resources, facilities and innovative packaging solutions is to the future of the global outsourcing community

Brecon Pharmaceuticals, a leading provider of commercial packaging and clinical supply services for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, will be bringing news of the latest innovative packaging and anticounterfeiting solutions and investment in its global outsourcing capabilities to ICSE 2011 in Frankfurt from 25 – 27 October.

Recent milestones - including the third anniversary of the unique Burgopak solution and the next phase in the line’s development - will also be topics to share on stand 41D67 with visitors looking for cutting edge solutions for delivering products requiring greater patient compliance.

Part of US pharmaceutical distribution and services company AmerisourceBergen Corporation since 2006, Brecon will also be outlining details of expansions to its lab and storage and distribution facilities at Hay on Wye, which are now fully compliant to European, USA and ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 12485 standards.

With the recent completion of a successful audit by the FDA, Brecon can now provide a range of customised turnkey primary and secondary commercial and IMP packaging solutions of medications and licensed pharmaceuticals, further consolidating the company’s position as a leader in the global outsourcing community.

Brecon will also be celebrating the third anniversary of Burgopak, the unique sliding blister pack that was launched at ICSE in 2008, and will be discussing the next phase in its development to accommodate products beyond the blister pack. Europe’s only Burgopak line has produced 10 million Burgopaks since installation at Brecon’s facility in Hay on Wye, and as the need for patient compliance increases, interest in the Burgopak line continues to grow with a forecast of a further 10 million packs being produced in the next year alone.

Commitment to investment is also a priority to Brecon; in Frankfurt it will discuss the benefits of recent expansions to its laboratory and the quadrupling of its storage and distribution facilities, which will be fully operational by the end of 2011. The tracking of customer’s clinical trials will also be a key feature for discussion at ICSE, following the installation of an additional module to its JD Edwards ERP system, which enables customers to track and manage their own clinical studies online.

‘Brecon constantly strives to set the benchmark for outsourcing providers everywhere, and we are looking forward to discussing how crucial investment in resources, facilities and innovative packaging solutions is to the future of the global outsourcing community,’ comments Steve Kemp, business development director at Brecon.

‘Our successful FDA audit and expansions will enable us to forge stronger links with our customers and comment on key industry themes such as anticounterfeiting, Late Stage Customisation and serialisation, and as a result we are really looking forward to welcoming visitors to our ICSE stand to discuss their requirements.’
