Particle size standards extended

Published: 1-May-2003

Whitehouse Scientific has launched an extended range of particle size standards for calibrating any particle size analysis instrument. The NIST-traceable polydisperse glass microspheres are now available in the range 0.1 to 2000µm and will be on display at Achema together with products from the company's range of standards for sieve and filter calibration.

The NIST-traceable reference standards were originally commissioned by the EC Bureau of Reference and are certified by one of the largest teams of European laboratories ever assembled using unambiguous primary methods such as microscopy, sieving, sedimentation and the Coulter method.

There are seven overlapping sizes in the series, covering the range from 0.1 to 2000µm. Each grade is produced as a single shot vial to ensure minimal sampling errors during analysis. They are packaged in a variety of weights to suit different particle analysis methods, such as laser diffraction, sieving and microscopy.
