Patheon closes facility in Puerto Rico

Patheon, a Canadian provider of drug development and manufacturing services has closed its Carolina facility in Puerto Rico after pursuing all reasonable alternatives for the past 12 months.


Patheon, a Canadian provider of drug development and manufacturing services has closed its Carolina facility in Puerto Rico after pursuing all reasonable alternatives for the past 12 months.

Certain transitional activities will be continued at the facility for the next few weeks to ensure proper and compliant closure of the facility. However, as of 31 January 2009 no further products are being manufactured, packaged or shipped from the facility. Severance and other closure costs are expected to be approximately US$3.0m (Euro 2.3m).
