Penn Pharmaceutical Services, the south Wales, UK-based pharmaceutical outsourcing service provider, has announced a £1m investment and expansion programme.

Set to create 30 new jobs over the next two years, the investment, awarded by the Welsh Assembly Government through Regional Selective Assistance grant aid, will enable Penn to build four new clean rooms, improve its packaging suites and enhance its laboratory facilities.

Penn chief executive Craig Rennie said: 'This is great news for Penn and comes following a period of considerable growth and development. So far this year, Penn has made ten appointments in various roles within the business and over the past six years has created a total of 80 new jobs at our site in Tredegar.'

'The grant, facilitated by Broomfield Alexander, of £250,000, forms part of a strategically important expansion for Penn and allows us to continue to differentiate ourselves as a fully integrated service provider,' added Rennie.
