Welsh outsourcing company Penn Pharmaceutical Services" new storage and distribution facility in Gwent has been officially opened by Baron Neil Kinnock.
The 75,000ft2 temperature-controlled warehouse, located at Pen-y-Fan Industrial Estate in Crumlin, will further support Penn's existing clinical and commercial storage and distribution services. It creates an additional 2,400 pallet locations and will be able to hold several hundred thousand patient drug packs, increasing Penn's storage and distribution capacity seven fold.
"The new warehouse has enabled us to increase our storage and distribution capacity significantly and build up on our reputation as a leading Welsh pharmaceutical company with a growing presence across the globe," said Peter George, ceo of Penn Pharmaceuticals.
"The warehouse will have more than 10 deliveries a day and will be distributing product worldwide on a daily basis. The opening forms part of our ongoing growth strategy, following the official opening by the First Minister of our new high containment suite, built in response to a growing demand within the industry for high potent processing and manufacturing."
