Edinburgh testing and advisory organisation Exova (formerly Bodycote Testing Group) has appointed Moyra Brookes, as general manager pharmaceuticals.

Univar has appointed Michael Cooke as marketing manager Pharma EMEA.

Heptares Therapeutics, a UK drug discovery company focused on G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) targets, has recruited Dr Barry Kenny as chief business officer to focus on business development and strategic alliances.

Baltimore Innovations, a UK desiccant specialist, has recruited Simon Poulter to head its new foil packaging division. Poulter was previously technical manager at Mondi.

Business development and commercial affairs will become two separate divisions at Pronova BioPharma in Norway from 1 December 2009. Roger Tuen will become vp, commercial affairs and Hilde Steineger, vp, business development. Espen Tidemann Jorgensen will replace Steineger as vp, strategy and investor relations.

Cardinal Health, of Dublin, Ohio, US, has named Mark Blake as executive vice president of strategy and corporate development.

Almac Sciences has promoted Denis Geffroy to vp business development and Dr Charles Shields has joined the company as vp peptides operations. In addition, Helen McKeever has been appointed as preclinical programme manager.

PharmaDiagnostics, a Belgian developer of label-free screening technology, has appointed Dr David Ricketts as chief executive.

UK-based ophthalmic company, Spectrum Thea, has appointed two new sales managers. Mike Riley joins as area sales manager for the north of England and Scotland, while Kerry Wheeler will handle sales in south east England.
