Abbeychart has introduced the PeriPump range of high quality and simple to install peristaltic pumps.

The new products are designed for use by equipment manufacturers in a range of industries, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, and water and waste treatment.

PeriPumps offer low risk of media contamination, simple and cost-effective operation, low maintenance, self-priming, and a gentle pumping action. They are also reversible and can be flushed to clean out the tubing or hose.

The three pumps in the range can handle sensitive, abrasive, sterile or aggressive liquid, gas, mixed-phase and viscous fluids. They have no valves, seals or glands, and the fluid contacts only the bore of the hose or tube. The pumps use rotating rollers pressed against special flexible tubing to create a pressurised flow.

PeriPump 1 can pump a maximum of 8.81 litres/hour, PeriPump 2 23.5 and PeriPump 3, 28.1.

The pumps' components, which include a pump head, drive and replaceable or disposable tubing can be configured according to each individual customer's requirements.

Peristaltic pumps used in pharmaceutical, chemical and food and beverage applications are typically peristaltic metering pumps or beverage peristaltic pumps. Because of their non-contamination and gentle action, peristaltic pumps also have a number of medical applications, including adding nutrients to blood, pushing blood through filters to clean it, or moving blood through the body and lungs during open heart surgery.
