Pharma sector gears up for ChemSpec
ChemSpec Europe, the event for the fine and speciality chemicals industry, is taking place in Basel, Switzerland, on 26-27 June. Visitor registrations are already 80% up on the same time last year, says organiser dmg world media. Bayer, Clariant, Dynamic Synthesis, Synetix, Eastman Chemical Company, Lonza, DSM Fine Chemicals and Rhodia will be among the 200 or so exhibitors.
New developments featured will include Johnson Matthey's latest catalysis technology and precious metal scavenging for catalyst solutions. A number of companies will be boasting new or expanded manufacturing facilities, such as Bayer's new cGMP kilolab at ZeTO; CU Chemie Uetikon's new GMP plant that came on stream earlier this year; and Thomas Swan's first fully commercial plant for reactions in supercritical fluid.
Taking place alongside the exhibition will be a conference organised by the British Association for Chemical Specialities, on the subject of Strategies for Cost-Saving Chemistry.
