Utek Corporation, a US innovation services company, has launched www.genericlicensing.com in a joint venture between its Pharmalicensing division and ICE Pharma Group in the UK.


Utek Corporation, a US innovation services company, has launched www.genericlicensing.com in a joint venture between its Pharmalicensing division and ICE Pharma Group in the UK.

The site provides a comprehensive database of approved, available and in-development generic products.

A number of key features and tool-sets are available that Utek says will make obtaining new generic products easier for paid subscribers. These include: product detail; product updates; offer and counter-offer tools; and product requests.

The site also offers business development services to complement the online activities, including: partner surveys; project planning, initiation and closure; and market assessments.

Mark McBride, director of Pharmalicensing, said: "We feel that it will offer a valuable tool for generic companies of all sizes to identify rapidly products for licensing from reliable and pre-screened sources from around the world."

Asa Cox, strategic business development director at ICE, added: "Already we have more than 150 subscribers looking for products; from both large generic companies and local firms worldwide. We believe Genericlicensing.com will become an essential part of the way the generics industry does business."
