Partners in Packaging (PiP) introduced its Top-Serter II to the UK market for the first time at the PPMA show, as a response to the increasing legislative pressure regarding Patient Information Leaflets with pharmaceutical products.
The MGS Continuous motion High Speed Rotary Pick and Place TopSerter II leaflet and booklet applicator applies outserts measuring from 25mm x 25mm x 1mm thick to 75mm x 75mm x 4mm thick to caps on bottles measuring from 25mm diameter x 65mm high to 100mm diameter x 200mm high.
The four-head rotary feeder, which operates at speeds of up to 300 bottles a minute, depending on mode, is designed to meet all relevant cGMP guidelines and US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) requirements.
Bottles arriving on the infeed conveyor are controlled using a driven scroll feed, which pitches the bottles into a position where a dot of peelable adhesive is applied to the top (or side) of the bottle. The continuous motion rotary pick and place feeder then applies the patient information booklet/leaflet.
The TopSerter ll features missed outsert feed detection, Allen-Bradley controls and quick repeatable operator size changeovers, with an easy-to-load ergonomic high capacity leaflet magazine. Identification devices including bar code scanners, vision systems and smart sensors can also be incorporated.
The MGS TopSerter range can also be used to apply patient information leaflets and booklets to the side of bottles and cartons.
