OsteoBiologics (OBI), an innovator in tissue repair technologies, has received a Medical Device Licence (MDL) authorizing the marketing of its PolyGraft family of products for bone void repair in Canada.

The MDL enables the PolyGraft products, which are indicated for the filling of bone voids or gaps caused by trauma or surgery, to be distributed throughout the Canadian community. This follows OBI's recent announcement of its CE Mark Approval to market and distribute its PolyGraft family of products for bone and cartilage repair throughout Europe.

OBI's proprietary PolyGraft material technology is unique in that it provides a biologically friendly and biomechanically stable scaffold during the time required for native tissue healing. It is made of porous material composed of a patented blend of polylactide-co-glycolide, calcium sulfate and polyglycolide fibers, which can be fabricated into products such as granules, blocks, wedges and other preformed shapes.

OBI's PolyGraft family includes TruGraft BGS Granules, TruFit BGS Plugs, TruWedge BGS Wedge and the TruBlock BGS Block.

'We have achieved another milestone in our goal of making this technology platform available to patients and clinicians in the global community,' said Fred Dinger, president and ceo of OBI.
