Aerosol drugs delivery company Proveris Scientific has established its European headquarters in Portsmouth in the UK to serve as a hub for providing service and support on a more local level to clients throughout Europe and Asia.
Ivan Prince, recently appointed as manager of services and support for the regions, will drive the initiative and play an integral role in devising and executing Proveris's expansion plans.
Prince joined Proveris from Respironics, a provider of solutions for the sleep and respiratory markets.
The move is in response to heightened regulatory requirements for the European pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) has provided new guidelines on the pharmaceutical quality of inhalation and nasal therapies. As the pioneer of both a process that accelerates spray drug therapy development and patented technology that automates and increases the accuracy of spray drug testing, Proveris can help organisations worldwide maintain compliance with these guidelines.
The company has already established a footprint in Europe and Asia. For years, organisations have relied on the patented Viota software platform and SprayVIEW equipment to meet regulatory requirements in the US, Europe and Asia and speed product time to market.
"This European headquarters gives us greater agility in conducting training and providing consulting services and support abroad," said Dino Farina, president of Proveris Scientific. "As we increase our presence in Europe and Asia, we are committed to maintaining the highest level of responsiveness and quality client service we are delighted to have Ivan on board to lead that charge. Under his direction, we are confident that the European operations will further enable clients to maximise the value they gain from our software and equipment."
