Ranbaxy says it was totally surprised by US federal officials who turned up to conduct a search at its New Jersey offices on 14 February, 2007.


Ranbaxy says it was totally surprised by US federal officials who turned up to conduct a search at its New Jersey offices on 14 February, 2007.

The company said it is not aware of any wrongdoing and is co-operating fully with the officials. The nature of the investigation is not yet known. The FDA not able to confirm any involvement and the US Department of Justice saying it could not comment on pending investigations.

The Indian-based generics company operates in a global business and recently launched its generic version of Pfizer's Lipitor in Denmark. It said its US business would continue as usual.
