Ranbaxy Laboratories, India's largest pharmaceutical company, has made a series of high-profile appointments.


Ranbaxy Laboratories, India's largest pharmaceutical company, has made a series of high-profile appointments.

Ramesh Adige, vice president for corporate affairs, has been elevated to the board of directors; R. Sundar Rajan has been inducted from Wipro as vice president, legal, and seven senior executives have been promoted to vice presidents. These include Dr R. Gowrishankar in clinical research; Jim Meehan in sales, marketing & distribution; Omesh Sethi; Arun Nayyar; Ranjit Barshikar; Ramesh Parekh and S.C. Agrawal.

These new positions have been created to provide leadership and focus in the critical areas of clinical research; global quality; sales & marketing; legal & secretarial; global corporate communications & public affairs, and will be pivotal in achieving the company's objective of $2bn growth in turnover by 2007 and $5bn by 2012.

Ranbaxy, manufactures and markets brand and generic pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients, and sells its products in more than 100 countries.
