Record exhibitor numbers at Achema 2006

Published: 31-Mar-2006

When ACHEMA 2006 takes place, from May 15-19 in Frankfurt am Main, the global economic and political climate will be significantly more favourable than it was , when the last event took place in 2003. Achema will once again provide a stimulus for the continued development of technology, worldwide contacts and new business relationships.

Thus, despite the impact of mergers and acquisitions in the chemical processing sector over the last three years, 3850 exhibitors have already booked space, exceeding the 2003 total figure of 3819.

The growth in exhibitors is largely due to the show becoming more international in nature. More than 1,650 companies from outside Germany have booked, an increase of almost 10% over the previous record. Foreign exhibitor levels are expected to reach around 44%, compared with 40.6% in 2003.

A steady growth in exhibitor numbers has been seen from US, Italy and France, but the major impact is from India, China and South Korea with increases in the 50-100% range. In all, almost 250 exhibitors from the Asia/Pacific region will be showing their products and services. Of the 200 British exhibitors, more than one-third will be exhibiting at Achema for the first time.
