Among the 17 reactors at Chambers Works are 500-gallon and 750-gallon units. With cryogenic and hydrogenation capabilities on-site, Rhodia can provide small-scale quantities of commercial products in North America, along with continuing to develop cGMP processes for APIs and intermediates and supplying toxicology and clinical trial materials.
Earlier this year, employees from the company's sites in Malvern, Pennsylvania, and Boston relocated to Chambers Works, located in Salem County, near Philadelphia and Wilmington. The 101,000ft2 facility is currently employing 60 people, including more than 30 chemists dedicated to process development.
'The Chambers Works site enables us to handle larger numbers of projects than were previously possible in Malvern and Boston combined,' said Nick Green, president of Rhodia Pharma Solutions. 'The equipment at the site also allows us to take on certain projects in North America that were not previously possible.'
