Rhodia, headquartered in Paris, France, has restructured its organisation 'to better serve its customers.'
The company will focus on eight major markets - pharmaceuticals, consumer care, food, industrial care, agrochemicals, automotive, electronics and fibres - drawing on the wide array of diversified products of Rhodia's enterprises. The businesses are now grouped around four divisions, which will essentially serve the key markets.
The agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals division, which represents 16% of Rhodia sales, consists of two newly established enterprises, Rhodia Pharma Solutions and Perfumery; and Performance and Agro Enterprise. The Pharma Solutions enterprise brings together all Rhodia's businesses serving the pharmaceutical industry, including custom development services during the initial phases of development for new pharmaceuticals and in the production of active ingredients, the production of advanced intermediates based on Rhodia's diverse array of technologies, as well as analgesics and nutraceuticals. This combination enables the company to offer a comprehensive package to the pharmaceuticals market, extending services from pre-clinical phases to large volume production of active ingredients.
'Rhodia's business model is based on the cross-fertilisation of our expertise in chemistry and technology as well as a closer relationship with our customer-partners. More structured and transversal, this new organisation will enable us to better respond to the issues of our customers,' said Jean-Pierre Tirouflet, Rhodia's chairman and ceo.
