Ricerca makes alliances

Ricerca and Shire Laboratories Inc (a subsidiary of Shire Pharmaceuticals Group) have formed a strategic alliance to market each other's services and technologies. Ricerca in Concord, OH in the US deals in drug lead optimisation, candidate selection programmes and preclinical drug development partnerships.

Shire Laboratories, based in Rockville, MD, provides proprietary technology platforms to predict and enhance oral bioavailability of drugs, as well as developing unique oral-controlled release formulations. Both companies hope that the collaboration will broaden their presence in new market segments.
