Rotary labeller maximises flexibility
The new high speed, servo-driven 16-turret rotary labeller, the Model 337 Commander II, developed by Canadian packaging equipment company NJM/CLI, offers good labelling accuracy and production flexibility, the company claims. It is said to be particularly suitable for pharmaceutical applications as it can handle square, round and rectangular containers ranging in height from 2 to 12 inches, applying single, dual, three-, four-and five-panel pressure-sensitive labels, as well as wraparound labels and outserts.
The Model 337 Commander II has segmented replaceable bottle plate cams that control the movement of the bottle platform, allowing for the widest range of labelling and inspection capabilities, while rapid, tool-less changeover with quick-change hubs minimises downtime.
Pneumatic container hold-downs provide positive pressure control to improve container handling, while on the label web, NJM/CLI's power unwind and smart power rewind achieve positive web handling to optimise label registration. Precision is further enhanced by servo-driven dispensing heads.
The Model 337 Commander II accepts detection devices such as vision systems for barcode verification and date and lot code inspection, while positive container tracking ensures that the correct non-conforming containers are rejected from the labeller's starwheel system.
NJM/CLI says it can also configure the Model 337 Commander II labeller to comply with 21CFR Part 11.
