Schoeller Allibert’s Magnum Optimum (MO) 1210 CircuLine has been recognised as best-in-class for sustainable packaging in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Environmental Packaging Awards judges selected the MO 1210 CircuLine® as the winner of the Personal Care category, praising its ability to help cosmetics and pharma suppliers minimise virgin plastic use.
The winning product is made from Schoeller Allibert’s bespoke CircuLine material, meaning it contains 30%-100% recycled plastic and is designed for use over 10 years or more – as well as being fully recyclable at the end of its life.
The awards, held on Tuesday 13 June at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, are part of Packaging News’ Environmental Packaging Summit, which brings together industry experts to discuss issues relating to sustainability affecting the sector.
Commenting on the win, Nick James, Sales Director General and Emerging Markets UK, Benelux and North East Europe at Schoeller Allibert said: “We’re beyond thrilled that the judges have recognised the potential of the MO 1210 CircuLine® to benefit cosmetics and pharma supply chains. Our CircuLine product range provides a simple way for businesses to reduce their overall environmental impact and combining it with the Magnum Optimum design has resulted in a hard-wearing, more sustainable solution that is perfect for repeated use.
“Offering major benefits both in terms of sustainability and product protection, the MO 1210 CircuLine® is not only the strongest foldable large container on the market, but it also helps suppliers reduce reliance on virgin plastics and offers substantial environmental benefits over single-use alternatives. With World Environment Day earlier this month focused on eliminating plastic waste, containers like this one simplify the path to reduced plastic use.
“Schoeller Allibert is committed to reaching 100% circularity by 2050, and with its high recycled plastic content, the MO 1210 CircuLine® puts us well on the way to achieving this goal. With the support of our buy-back programme, it’s easier than ever for cosmetics and pharma suppliers to minimise their carbon footprint and take another step towards achieving a fully circular supply chain.”
