As an internationally operating, leading developer and manufacturer of innovative functional labels for the healthcare industry, Schreiner MediPharm is again participating this year in CPHI China in Shanghai from 19 to 21 June. At the leading Chinese trade fair for the pharmaceutical industry, the label and packaging expert is going to present its newest solutions and extensive product portfolio at Booth No. N5D32.
The exacting demands of novel active ingredients (APIs) and sustainability are highlighted at Schreiner MediPharm this year. The pharmaceutical expert is showcasing not only its current product range but also offering solutions that are precisely tailored to the specific requirements of the Chinese market.
Schreiner MediPharm has developed the innovative Freeze-Light-Protect syringe label as a speciality label for mRNA applications as well as for cell and gene therapies. These novel APIs must be transported and stored at ultra-low temperatures of down to -100 °C and often require special light protection. Freeze-Light-Protect reliably adheres to the syringe even at extremely low temperatures and can be equipped with various UV and light protection levels to ensure customised adaptation to the respective API.
With its new sustainable closure seals, Schreiner MediPharm combines two central elements for the pharmaceutical industry: supply chain security and eco-friendliness. The sealing solutions are perfectly adapted to the specific threat scenarios and respective secondary packaging. The recycled content of the film material amounts to as much as 90 percent, enabling emission reductions of up to 35 percent in terms of the product carbon footprint (PCF)—while transparency, printability, and reliability performance remains the same compared to conventional seals.
Needle-Trap, Schreiner MediPharm’s unique label with an integrated needle catcher is another example showing how sustainable products can be: On the one hand, the plastic trap to secure the needle consists of up to 50 percent of re-granulated material. On the other hand, its special design helps Needle-Trap achieve its high level of environmental friendliness. The compact label construction requires significantly less plastics than conventional needle protection systems and takes up far less space during transportation and storage. Moreover, a new feature enables easy integration of a first-opening indication, which eliminates the need for pharmaceutical manufacturers to use blister packs.
