SF acid chloride plant

SF-Chem has begun production of Pivaloyl chloride on a commercial scale in a new acid chloride plant. Pivaloyl chloride is an intermediate for pharmaceuticals. The recently built plant has a capacity of 7,000t and will enlarge SF-Chem's total capacity for the production of acid chlorides to 24,000t per year. SF-Chem already operates several chlorination plants, each with a capacity of between 1,500 and 4,000t per year. Most of these are multipurpose plants.
