SF-Chem in MBO
SF-Chem, a leading Swiss chemical company specialising in chlorine- and sulphur-based products, has been the sold by its previous owners Syngenta and Clariant to a management team and Switzerland's leading private equity house Capvis.
SF-Chem, a leading Swiss chemical company specialising in chlorine- and sulphur-based products, has been the sold by its previous owners Syngenta and Clariant to a management team and Switzerland's leading private equity house Capvis.
Headquartered in Pratteln, near Basel, SF-Chem operates worldwide and has a workforce of 360. In 2003 sales reached Sfr166m (€197m).
Capvis will have a majority stake in the company with the management as the second largest shareholder. Ueli Roost has been appointed as the new ceo with effect from the beginning of October.
SF-Chem intends to consolidate its position as a supplier of innovative products for further processing byother chemical companies and to continue to expand its business, not only in the commodities and speciality sectors, but also in the custom synthesis business.
