SIRO Clinpharm expands its presence in Asia
Launches operations in Malaysia
Indian contract research organisation SIRO Clinpharm has expanded its reach into Asia with the start up of clinical monitoring and project management operations in Malaysia.
Last year, Mumbai-based SIRO Clinpharm formed alliances with CROs in South Korea and Taiwan.
‘What attracted us to Malaysia was a robust regulatory framework with compliant timelines, strong Government commitment towards clinical research and modern medical facilities,’ said Ajit Nair, president Asia Business for SIRO.
‘This expansion in Asia gives us an opportunity immediately to offer an additional geography to conduct clinical trials to our existing as well as potential clients,’ added Chetan Tamhankar, chief executive of SIRO.
He said the company is in the process of evaluating the Philippines and Thailand, among other Asian countries, for clinical operations.
SIRO Clinpharm started operations in India in 1996 and claims to be one of India’s most experienced CROs. The company offers a full range of services, conducting clinical trials in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices sectors. It has offices in India, US, Israel, Germany, Czech Republic, Greece, Estonia, Romania, Spain and France.
