Specialist detection systems launched

Published: 9-Feb-2002

A microbore evaporative light scattering (ELS) detector has been launched by Polymer Laboratories in response to the trend towards micro and capillary HPLC separations. The PL-ELS 1000µ operates with eluent flow rates from 1-500µl a minute and can detect all non-volatile solutes.

The system is said to offer good baseline stability, does not depend on UV chromophore and is designed for minimal band broadening. It can be used either as a standalone detector for separations using capillaries down to 300µm ID, or as a split flow concentration detector in conjuction with LC-MS systems, the company says.

At Pittcon 2002 Polymer Laboratories will also be demonstrating its Cirrus multi detector software package for polymer characterisation by multi detector GPC.
