Absolute Vision, an industrial systems integrator and specialist in two-dimensional (2D) code reading devices and based near Birmingham in the UK, has launched Medusa, a new range of 2D code reading products.

The Medusa range has been developed especially to offer increased ease of integration with third party systems. In addition, Medusa provides an inexpensive solution for businesses to migrate from existing 1D barcode methods, to 2D code solutions. It offers companies excellent readability and robustness at a competitive price, the company says.

Medusa Lite is an easily installed and configured entry-level code-reading system that comes with the Medusa code-reading software and a USB image acquisition device. The software will support all types of 1D and 2D codes and a range of error correction systems. The system comes with an extensive array of preconfigured image set-ups. Once the system is plugged in, all a user needs to do is ensure that the camera is focused and allow the Medusa software to do the rest.

The software supports an extensive list of different methods of data integration. This ensures that the data on the code that has been read can be exported easily into any system without the need for middleware or using up valuable IT department resources.
