SSL picks Safeline for tablet security

High throughput Tablex metal detectors from Salford-based Safeline have been chosen by UK healthcare company SSL International for its new otc plant in Peterlee. Three Safeline detectors have been installed to monitor solid dose medicines.

The machines feature a high frequency coil system for very high sensitivity and can find minute fragments of metal, including aluminium and stainless steel, at inspection rates in excess of 10,000 tablets/minute. A crystal-controlled oscillator and advanced detector head design deliver excellent stability, Safeline says. A number of failsafe features are incorporated, including a bi-stable solenoid that moves the diverter valve to the reject position should a power failure occur.
