Tabletop press for two layers
A low-cost tabletop tablet press has been launched by Sussex & Berkshire Machinery. The Riva Piccola DC allows two-layer tablets to be developed using laboratory scale equipment rather than full-scale production presses. Capable of an output of up to 18,000 tablets an hour, the machine is also suitable for small-scale or pilot production.
The Riva Piccola DC, made by Buenos Aires-based Riva, features two product hoppers, two servo driven feed systems and has two compression zones. Maximum compression force is six tonnes, and the proportion of the two components can be varied to suit the application.
The press has 11 stations and can use B type tooling to product tablets up to 16mm in diameter or D type tooling for tablets up to 24mm.
