Thermo Electron Corporation unveiled the Goring Kerr DSP Rx pharmaceutical metal detection unit, designed to screen pills and capsules at the outfeed of tablet presses and capsule filling machines.
This is Thermo Electron's first metal detector to incorporate its patented QuadraCoil system, which is claimed to improve sensitivity levels by 15-20%.
For maximum hygiene all pneumatics and cables are contained within the unit's stand, and all mounting bars have round profiles to remove risk of debris and bacteria traps. The reject is operated remotely from within the DSP Rx cabinet and all suspect product is diverted into an integral lockable reject container, which is removable for cleaning.
The DSP Rx offers the choice of four aperture sizes, and can be fully adjusted quickly for infeed heights from 760-960 mm, and angular adjustments of 20-40°. It also incorporates the patented AuditCheck self-monitoring system, which allows the unit to monitor its performance levels automatically and provide an alert if recalibration is required. To prevent risk of dust build-up inside the AuditCheck tube, Thermo has now sealed this within the search head.
