Transfer hatch offers fire barrier

PBSC, of Huddersfield, has recently launched two fire-resistant cleanroom fixtures. A 1-hour fire-resistant transfer hatch has been developed to complement a new explosion-proof vision panel system. The transfer hatch has been designed for use in cleanrooms that need rated fire barriers between operating zones. The initial production run featured a stainless steel and glass design, with the 500mm cube hatch containing a Pyran heat resistant vision panel. The hatch doors seal against a fire-resistant silicone rubber seal system.

Considerable engineering expertise was used to develop the triple-glazed vision unit of the explosion-proof vision panel system, which incorporates a heavy-duty inner blast-proof glass and fire-rated exterior panels. The first system was recently supplied to a pharmaceutical facility located in Singapore.
