Unither acquires French contract manufacturer Creapharm

European blow fill seal manufacturer Unither has acquired the French contract manufacturing group Creapharm. The newly formed company will achieve nearly €75 million in total sales in 2005 and will have 500 employees as well as four production plants and one development centre in France.


European blow fill seal manufacturer Unither has acquired the French contract manufacturing group Creapharm. The newly formed company will achieve nearly €75 million in total sales in 2005 and will have 500 employees as well as four production plants and one development centre in France.

Creapharm is active in the fields of solid and liquid dosage forms, particularly effervescents and suppositories. It also carries out drug formulation and analytical development and produces and distributes pharmaceutical materials for clinical trials.

Unither's strategy is to become a leading European contract manufacturer with a strong development capability and Creapharm gives it both critical mass and technical knowhow. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Eric Goupil will be new company's ceo and Patrick Colin will be general director in charge of technological and industrial development. Michel Pautrat will join the board as general director responsible for the Bessay, Gannat and Bordeaux sites and will be in charge of product development. Jean-Philippe Neron is to be commercial director.
