Versaperm passes the test

Moisture is one of the most damaging pharmaceutical contaminants and can reduce efficacy and slash shelf life. Water loss may lead to a change in the physical properties of a solid preparation, or a change in viscosity and concentration of vital components in liquid products, while water gain can cause sensitive ingredients to swell.

UK-based water vapour measurement technology specialist Versaperm, of Sittingbourne, has devised a meter that can measure the permeability of a package in as little as 30 minutes.

The WVTR meter is versatile, fast, reliable, gives highly reproducible results and can be used to test virtually all packaging types. It also allows the temperature and humidity of the sample to be accurately controlled.
