Yokogawa Electric Corporation, a leading solutions provider for test and measurement, process control and analysis instrumentation, has concluded an agreement with German speciality chemical manufacturer Degussa to be a global supplier of process control systems for plant automation. The Yokogawa products and services covered by the agreement include the company's CENTUM CS 3000 integrated production control system hardware and software.

Yokogawa has provided Degussa with a total of 41 systems, according to Teruyoshi Minaki, director and executive vice president at Yokogawa's industrial automation business headquarters. Yokogawa has already won similar contracts for control systems from leading international chemical, pharmaceutical and engineering companies.

'This partnership agreement will be an important step in the improvement of the process automation activities of Degussa', said Dr Joachim Dutschke, Degussa's vice president of technical procurement. 'Yokogawa's contribution by providing highly efficient products and full support from its global organisation to Degussa's worldwide facilities is strongly anticipated.'
