Yokogawa to roll out batch PIMS
Yokogawa Marex, the Yokogawa group's global MES developer and integrator, has completed beta testing of the software for its Exaquantum/Batch Plant Information Management System (PIMS) and the customer implementations of this advanced electronic plant optimisation technology is said to be progressing well.
Several of the implementations are in the pharmaceutical environment, and the 21 CFR Part 11 certification process is making rapid progress, Yokogawa says, with assessors impressed by the automatic verification of the data, the tight integration with the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and the transparency of the software.
Designed to provide high-value batch process and business information for the chemical and pharma industries, Exaquantum/Batch is an important part of the company's global electronic Realtime Manufacturing (e.RM) program to provide extended functionality and reduce process engineering costs. The first phase of implementations is on schedule to be completed in the first quarter of 2005.
