DKSH acquires Tiger Chemicals Company
Strengthens its footprint in Australia and New Zealand
Swiss chemicals supplier DKSH has acquired Melbourne, Australia-based Tiger Chemicals Company, which will be integrated into its Business Unit Performance Materials. No financial details were disclosed.
The company said the move would strengthen its footprint in Australia, extend its activities to New Zealand and offer better market coverage in Asia Pacific to existing and new clients.
The owner of Tiger Chemicals Company, Rex Gordon, will continue to be involved in the business within DKSH Australia to ensure a smooth transfer.
Established in 1988, Tiger Chemicals Company imports and distributes specialist chemicals and partly own-branded products.
DKSH has appointed Michael Joyce as head of Business Unit Performance Materials for Australia and New Zealand. Before joining DKSH, he worked for more than 20 years for BASF in Australia and Singapore. Most recently, he was managing director of BASF Coatings Pty. Ltd.
Mario Preissler, Global Head Business Unit Performance Materials at DKSH, said the acquisition ‘marks a significant point in the implementation of our strategy for growth in Asia’.
‘Tiger Chemical Company is a perfect fit with our existing business and will provide an extended sales and marketing platform for our business partners’ products, and at the same time, give us a larger footprint to gain new agencies and for further market rollouts for clients,’ he said.
DKSH’s Business Unit Performance Materials sources, develops, markets, and distributes a range of specialist chemicals and food ingredients to customers in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and personal care industries.
