Flexicon offers easier connection
Flexicon (Europe) will be featuring its Swing-Down bulk bag filler.
Flexicon (Europe) will be featuring its Swing-Down bulk bag filler.
A pivot-down fill head enables the operator to connect empty bags at floor level and resume filling operations rapidly, eliminating the need to climb steps, strain to reach overhead connection points or risk injury associated with the operation of conventional bulk bag fillers.
The design lowers and pivots the fill head, stopping it in a vertically oriented position that places the bag inlet spout inflatable connection, inflator button and four bag loop latches within arm's length of the operator at floor level.
A remote console or wall-mounted panel houses controls to raise and pivot the fill head into a locked horizontal fill position; automatically inflate the bag to remove creases; open a flow control valve or start a feed device and stop the flow of material once a preset fill weight has been attained. Once bags are filled, the controller deflates the spout connection collar, releases the loop latches and raises the fill head to fully disengage the spout, enabling the bag to exit the filler automatically on the roller conveyor.
For applications requiring retying of partially empty bags, there is a new pneumatically actuated flow control valve. The Power-Cincher contains a series of curved, articulated stainless steel rods that cinch the spout concentrically on a horizontal axis for easy tie-offs and vertically in a tight zigzag pattern to prevent leakage of fine powders.
The company will also be showing its fully automated, multipoint, hopper loader system based on its range of flexible spiral conveyors. This is designed for metering bulk materials to multiple processing, moulding or packaging machinery, often over long distances when field-installed.
Low friction, self-centring screw conveyors eliminate material build-up and avoid the risk of blended particles separating during transfer. The absence of internal bearings, cyclone separators or other wearing components results in reliable, low maintenance operation and minimises the possibility of cross-contamination or product spillage.
