Three new appointments have been made to strengthen Smithers Rapra's analytical services.
The company, a specialist in providing research, technology and information services for the polymer industry, has appointed Tim Forsyth as business manager of chemical analysis, Tim Hulme as principal pharmaceutical consultant and Michael Creese as senior consultant.
Forsyth brings to his new role over 30 years as a materials scientist specialising in the manufacture of plastics and rubber products, including packaging and dipped rubber goods. Previously he worked as technical director of BM Polyco where he was responsible for developing its UKAS accredited chemical, microbiological and physical testing laboratories.
Hulme joins Smithers Rapra from ConvaTec, where he spent 19 years gaining extensive experience in the analysis of pharmaceutical, wound and skin care products. Tim holds an MSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis and is a Chartered Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a Chartered Scientist and a Fellow of the Royal Microscopy Society. He will strengthen the scope and range of analytical services to the pharmaceutical industry. Creese will utilise his process validation, regulatory, extractable and leachable analysis and project management expertise to further enhance Smithers Rapra's pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical analysis services. He joins the company from Pall Europe, where he has worked since 2003, immediately following his graduation from the University of Warwick with a BSc in Chemistry.
