EMFR weighcells for improved diagnosis and accuracy of both static and dynamic weighing processes

Mettler Toledo Garvens has launched two new Electro Magnetic Force Restoration (EMFR) weighcells for improved diagnosis and accuracy of both static and dynamic weighing processes during pharmaceutical production.

These two new weighcells, TF10 and TF20, include productivity and accuracy enhancing features and comply with stringent industry standards. The latest addition to Mettler Toledo’s line of weighcells, the TF10 and TF 20 can be easily integrated into the checkweigher family and production lines.

Increased speed is a key benefit of the new weighcells, facilitating higher throughput while ensuring rigorous quality assurance. This increased efficiency is achieved by the fast reaction time of the TF 10 and TF 20, which allows for shorter weigh cycles. In fact, the weighcells can weigh up to 1000 pieces per minute at line speeds of up to 180 metres per minute.

Compared with existing technology, the new weighcells can produce more accurate weighing results over a wider weighing range and for a larger variety of products. This flexibility eliminates the need for multiple checkweighers on a given production line. Additional flexibility is achieved through the compact size of the TF 10 and TF 20, allowing for maximum use of limited plant space.

Both systems feature a robust housing to protect against dust and water and comply with the IP69k standard, so weighing results are not influenced by the environment. Also, to comply with pharmaceutical production standards and regulations, the weighcells are comprised of stainless steel and feature a hygienic design for easy and quick cleaning.

‘Continuous innovation is a key component of Mettler Toledo Garvens’ strategy, and we constantly seek feedback from our customers to ensure we’re meeting their evolving needs,’ said Dirk Bettels, product manager, Mettler Toledo Garvens. ‘With pharmaceutical manufacturers’ ongoing focus on quality and productivity, we focused our r&d efforts on further enhancing our weighcells in these areas.

‘Plus, manufacturers must have complete trust in our systems and that’s what we achieved with compliance with the IP69k standard,’ he said.

The TF10 and TF20 have the same housing, which makes it easy to implement one of the systems, depending on technical requirements. Optionally, an intelligently designed universal adaptor can give TF 10 and TF 20 the same housing dimensions as other Mettler Toledo Garvens weighcells in order to equip older checkweigher generations; this means great flexibility in service and protection of your initial investment.

The new weighcells are part of Mettler Toledo’s product inspection technology portfolio, which includes x-ray, metal detection and checkweighing solutions.
