Pro-Active validation for punches & dies

I Holland fully appreciates that increasing pressure is being applied to companies to comply with regulatory bodies' requirements (FDA etc), making it prudent to employ the latest technology.

In the world of tablet compression tooling and the tabletting process, I Holland offers a range of specially developed equipment to help achieve validation needs.

VALI-SCAN is a unique system designed to validate each punch and die for correct tip size and embossing details prior to loading into the press. This helps to eliminate the costly risk of producing rogue tablets within a batch and possible damage to tools and tablet press. A significant advancement in tablet QA, the tools are encoded during production at Holland's factory with a unique serial number and laser etched in 3-DI. Existing tools can also be marked.

VALI-SCAN is simple to use with its touch-screen operation and 'reading head' over which the tools are scanned. The unit is password protected at various levels and a printer provides documentary evidence of the press tooling-up procedure. Housed in a 304-grade stainless steel case, it is fully transportable to enable tooling to be validated in areas such as storage, maintenance or next to the tablet press.

It provides a secure alternative to the human eye in tooling identification, particularly when the differences in punch tip specifications are minor. Only correctly coded tooling will be accepted and the operator is alerted to non-valid tools by both audio and visual signals. Each event is data logged for future reporting and the unit can store a wide range of details on every single operation. Access to the information is by authorised operators ensuring the security of the system. Printouts of each procedure highlighting both valid and non-valid tooling are linked to that dedicated tablet press or tablet batch.
